Food Share Program

The BENCHS Food Share program is a community service offered to support families and individuals in the need of help feeding their pets. It offers free dog and cat food to help keep pets together with their families. 

The BENCHS Food Share Program is open from 12:00 – 4:00 pm daily for distribution. Come to door #1 at the shelter (1250 North River Drive, Mankato) and ring the doorbell. Owners can receive cat and/or dog food up to twice per month, and will receive a two-week supply of dog and/or cat food whenever supply permits.

No eligibility requirements are required. Pet owners will be asked for contact information as well as basic information about their pet(s).

We are grateful to Purina for supporting our Food Share Program by donating dog and cat food each year. BENCHS also shares the extra pet food and treats we receive from local businesses and community donors to make this food available to those who need it. The Food Share program has distributed thousands of pounds of donated food to area pet owners since 2005. BENCHS is committed to keeping families and their pets together.
